Meet the Governors

Mrs Ruth Dolan

Co-opted Governor, Chair of Governors - End of Term - 31-08-19

Pinfold is a very happy and exciting place with wonderful staff who do their very best to give the children the skills and confidence to reach for the stars. I know this because I've been a governor here and at Arundale for almost 10 years and I worked at Hattersley Neighbourhood Partnership for 5 years. It's great to see our schools working together at the heart of the community. I'm now a DfE National Leader of Governance working with lots of different schools sharing best practices. I am currently Chair of the Board and Vice Chair of the Finance Committee.

Jennifer Hughes

Headteacher Governor - End of Term - N/A

I have been the Head of School at Pinfold since September 2014. I feel privileged to work with such well behaved, polite and enthusiastic children and hard working staff supported by committed parents and governors. I have worked as a teacher since 1992 and have enjoyed several roles in schools, more recently as a Head of School in another authority. At Pinfold, we remain focused on every child achieving their potential in a supportive and caring environment as well as giving them a range of experiences which will allow them to develop into confident individuals.

I am a mum of four children and live in the local community. My children have all made excellent progress at Pinfold and I have really enjoyed supporting the work of the school by being a school governor. Having worked as a deputy manager in a Pre-School I am interested in the early years curriculum and staff roles.

Mrs Anne Ridyard

Local Authority Governor - End of Term - 31-08-19

I have been a Community Governor since my retirement in 2012. I am a Local Authority Governor and serve on the finance committee. Previously I had been a reception teacher at Pinfold for over 25 years.

I now spend one morning each week with small groups of KS1 children participating in maths games and activities. This is a very enjoyable experience for me and allows me to remain involved in school life.

I was very happy as a teacher at Pinfold and my role as Governor allows me to give something back to the school and be part of a team, maintaining friendships and having the chance to play a part in extending the children’s development and interests.

I am enjoying my retirement now having more time to spend with my family. My interests in sport and outdoor activities continue through my grandchildren now.

I have worked at Pinfold for 18 years as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, where I have had the pleasure of working with the most delightful children. I have been involved in the PTA and I have enjoyed helping to organise many events over the years which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Mr Steve Clark

Executive Headteacher Governor - End of Term - 31-08-19

I have worked at Pinfold Primary School since 1993, initially as a Deputy Headteacher. After a few years as a Headteacher in another school I returned to Pinfold as a Headteacher in 2000. In recent years I became the Executive Headteacher responsible for three schools in total.

The community that is Hattersley is honest, open and proud and I have been honoured to serve this community over a period of time when the community itself has undergone significant amounts of change.

The children at Pinfold, their parents and our community deserve Pinfold to be the best it can be, that’s what we aspire to every day.

Mr Simon Davidson

Parent Governor - End of Term

I've loved being involved with the school over the years through Lifecentre Hattersley; a local Christian charity I run, that help young people to achieve their potential and I'm excited about taking on this new role as governor.

My three children attend Pinfold and are really thriving in the environment the school creates. Their learning has exceeded my expectations and their teachers and assistants have gone the extra mile to help them.

I have been a Local Authority Governor at  Pinfold School for seven years. I am a teacher at a local high school. I came to Pinfold as a child, as did my brothers and my son. I love having the opportunity through Governance to give something back to such a brilliant school.
