                  Underwater Food Chains

Do you remember what every food chain starts with? Is it a producer (living thing that does not eat any other living thing because it makes/produces its own food - like the plants) or a consumer (living things that get their energy from eating other living things)?

You are all right - every food chain starts with a producer. Guess what; the underwater food chains also start with a producer. Can you think of a producer-living thing that lives underwater? Ask someone at home to help you research underwater producers.

Can you make an underwater food chain?

You can use the sheet provided here or join paper chains with pictures of your producer and consumers in the order of how the energy is passed along in the food chain (who eats who first), like we did in school.
