Year 5

Welcome to Year 5

General Information

Year 5 is an exciting and busy year for our children.  This area of the website celebrates the work of the children and also provides you with information that you might need.  This section of the website will have lots of information to support your learning in Year 5.

This area will be updated regularly with activities completed by the children.  Check out the learning from our previous Year 5 classes to see what we have coming up and keep checking back as it will be updated with work regularly.

You will have a copy of this in your Homework book and it is a good idea to talk about this with an adult at home and begin to learn the words in the 'Key Vocabulary' section.

In Spring 2, our topic is Materials and their properties.  Here is a copy of our knowledge organiser:

Other key information:

PE will take place every Thursday this half term.

You need to bring your PE kits in on each Monday and leave it in school.  If you have clubs make sure you bring your PE kit back into school the next day.

Homework

Children need to bring their book bag to school every day.  You are expected to read for 20 minutes every day and record this in your reading record.

Homework will be given out every Thursday and collected in on Tuesday.

You will get homework in your books each week - this might be some maths or spelling activities based on our learning in SCODE.

You will also have homework on Century learning.  We are expecting at least 20 minutes of activity on your recommended pathway each week.

Copies of letters explaining these expectations are included below and are in your homework book:
