Here is a poster to help you learn how to tell the time.
The yellow side (1st half of the clock face) shows “minutes past the hour”.
The blue side (2nd half of the clock face) of the clock shows “minutes to the hour”.
Your fraction knowledge is also useful here.
When the minute hand points to the 3 it is quarter past.
When the minute hand reached the 6 the time is now half past.
When the minute hand reaches the 9 it is quarter to.
You need to know 5 times tables, counting in 5s to say the times for
5 minutes past and 5 minutes to.
Each time the minute hand (long) hand points to a big number around the clock time has moved forward 5 minutes.
Practise using your clock. Move the minute hand round the clock, stopping at each number and counting in 5’s as you go.
