A good linguist at Pinfold enjoys learning Spanish and has the confidence to communicate using their language skills. They understand the importance of learning another language and that they are able to use their communication skills for practical purposes both in school and in the wider world, whilst travelling or when they encounter Spanish speakers here in the UK. By the end of Key Stage 2, in line with the National Curriculum, pupils at Pinfold will be able to understand spoken and written language from a variety of authentic sources and respond either orally or in writing with increasing confidence, using the variety of grammatical structures and the vocabulary they have learnt for each topic. They will be prepared for further language learning in Key Stage 3, either by building on their Spanish learning or by applying their skills to learning a new language.
