Pinfold Primary School Uniform Policy

Policy Statement

Pinfold Primary School expects all pupils to wear the correct school uniform. A consistent uniform promotes a sense of belonging, supports high standards, and helps pupils present themselves appropriately for learning.

School Uniform Requirements

Pupils should wear:

Top

• Red round-neck sweatshirt with or without the school logo
• Red button-up cardigan with or without the school logo.
• Red short-sleeved polo shirt with or without the school logo.

Trousers

• Plain black tailored trousers only.
• Trousers must not be cropped, tight-fitting, flared, skinny-fit, or ripped.
• Leggings are not permitted.

Shorts

• Plain black tailored shorts only.
• Sports shorts and cycling shorts are not permitted.

Skirts and Dresses

• Plain black knee-length skirt or pinafore dress.
• Short or tight-fitting skirts are not permitted.
• Summer option: red gingham check dress.

 

Footwear

Pupils must wear:

• Plain black (including sole) low-heeled school shoes or boots.

 

The following are not permitted:

• Trainers.
• Pumps.
• Open-backed footwear including sandals or croc style. 
• Sports-branded footwear, including branded trainers with white soles. 

 

Hijabs

For pupils in Years 5 and 6 only:

• Hijabs should be worn in keeping with the school uniform and be plain black or red. 
• They must remain securely tucked into clothing.
• Requests for younger pupils to wear a hijab should be discussed directly with the school.

 

Physical Education (PE) Kit

Pupils should wear/have:

• White round-neck T-shirt with or without school logo.
• Plain black shorts.
• Black canvas pumps or plain trainers.
• PE bag or drawstring bag.

Not permitted:

• Branded or sports team wear.

 

School Bags

Pupils may use:

• A navy school book bag.
• A small rucksack or drawstring bag that can be stored on the pupil's peg.

 

Hair

Hair should:

• Be clean, neat, and suitable presentable style for school.

 

The following are not permitted:

• Dyed hair.
• Hair extensions.

Hair accessories:

• Bobbles and headbands should be in school colours of red or black and be discreet in size.

Jewellery

• Earrings and body piercings are not permitted.
• All jewellery must be removed before attending school.

 

Make-Up and Nail Products

Pupils must not wear:

• Make-up.
• Nail varnish.
• Nail transfers.
• Acrylic or false nails.

 

Compliance

Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring that pupils attend school in the correct uniform. Where uniform issues arise, the school will work with families to resolve concerns in a supportive and reasonable manner. Should children not follow the guidelines for uniform they may not be included in events out of or after school or in photos for social media or display. Children who have unsuitable clothing, footwear or jewellery as above, may not be able to take part in the full curriculum or outdoor activities (including playtimes) due to health, safety or compliance concerns. Children attending school with earrings or persistently not following the guideline will not be permitted to play out and break and lunchtime and parents may be requested to supervise their child at these times.

 

Monitoring and Review

This policy will be reviewed annually by the Headteacher and Governing Body to ensure it remains appropriate, inclusive, and in line with school expectations.
